We are often asked questions like: “Why did you invent or combinate something new?”, “Why couldn’t you stay in the old way?” Well, the answers of those questions are really simple.
Long time ago, Karate in it’s old form, was created to protect yourself of Swords'man or other bad guys. But today, you will not find anybody running around with a Katana (japanese Sword) trying to kill you. So we needed modern selfdefence, which is useful for today's situation.
Selfdefence is just ONE focus Tatsu Ryu Karate Do is looking at. We are concentraining on 4 different aspects, which are:

Our Moto: Keep your head low, eyes high, mouth shut; base yourself on filial piety and benefit others.
Kihon and Kata are most important for People who are training Tatsu Ryu Karate Do. Kihon and Kata are the basement for us. And without basement, you can not build up on it. As it was very important for Gichin Funakoshi (Founder of the modern karate), it is also very important for us.
Beside fitness, hand- eyecoordination, persistence, conzentration and power, it is the community which we are really looking at and which is the most important in our Honbu (HQ)
Everybody is welcome, as long as they respect and agree with our behavior in our school.

The Trainer
1985 Niklas Albrecht started with karate training. Over the years, he specially learned a lot from Shihan Marcel Büchel about the tradition und what the Art is really about. Also his Focus to Kata was provided from Shihan Marcel. Pushing to the limit and giving was the credo of the Bodhidharma Dojo. The hard school of Shihan Marcel was well known, and his methods were sometimes questioned.
Clear is, that Shihan Marcel formed Niklas Albrecht, and made him what he is today.
1997 Niklas was hired by the Security Company GSS. He went in to special Educations in Security and build up his own Security Company, the COP Security Solution. The main focus was on Bodyguards and Security Staff. Because of his know-how, he teached his Staff in Close Combat, so the employees where ready for their job.
Since 2003 Niklas is teaching Karate and Self-defence at the Dojo and in official Schools around his area.
Tatsu Ryu Karate Do is the Summit of over 25 years of Karate and over 10 years of Security Business. 2008 is the Birthday of this new Karate Style.
Shihan Niklas was provided by Soke Karl Wagner, Shihan Marcel Büchel, Shihan Antonio la Salandra and many other people to create his own Style and create his own Syllabus. To complete his own Syllabus, that was the biggest step for Shihan Niklas Albrecht in his Martial Arts career.
The Target of Shihan Niklas is to teach his Students well and wise, and to share Tatsu Ryu Karate Do with others. Tatsu Ryu Karate Do is our way!
